How to Join?

All candidates for any graduate or professional degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill may be members of BGPSA. Students must self-identify to attain membership status. Membership can be accomplished by the following methods:

  • Get on listserv: to be added to our email listserv, please email us at uncch.bgpsa@gmail.com or sign up at the beginning of our events.
  • Sign up for the UNC BGPSA Directory at heellife.unc.edu

Dues

The Black Graduate and Professional Student Association will be collecting optional dues for the 2024-2025 academic year. Dues will be used to fund BGPSA events but are not required for membership. Individuals who do not submit dues are still permitted to attend all events; however, they may not have access to all event features.

Dues for the entire 2024-2025 academic year will be $25.00. Dues can be submitted to the BGPSA CashApp account: $uncbgpsa. When you submit dues please include your full name and UNC email. For alternative ways to submit dues please contact the acting Treasurer, Shaun Jones (shaun.jones@unc.edu).

    • Plans community service event on campus and in the triangle area

    • Plan social events for the BGPSA membership; streamlines information about events of interest to membership

    • Coordinates professional development and academic opportunities; builds foundation for future graduate students

  • Public Relations Committee
    • Increases visibility of BGPSA; manages social media presence; develop partnerships

  • Fundraising Committee
    • Develop opportunities to raise funds for future community service and programming events
